We Day: Free The Children

We Day....
Created by Free The Children to celebrate the power of young people to create positive change, We Day is a day-long event that ignites a year-long program for change, called We Schools in Action. In cities across Canada, the event brings inspirational speeches and performances to young leaders. Students then bring that energy home to take action on local and international issues all year long. Free The Children's We Day is the celebration, the inspiration and the vehicle for young people to change the world.   This is proof that girls like us can get started to change the world.  We can change the world together.  Degrassi, my favorite TV show, my two favorite characters in real life Aislinn Paul and Munro Chambers are changing the world right now too! Facebook Vs. Twitter

Hey girls,
Soooooo there has been a "battle" between Facebook and Twitter.  Not just the two social websites itself but also with its users.  As a a Facebook and Twitter user, I like them both very much.  I find that they are both different in their own way.  They are both important to me.  Others say,"Facebook has so much more," or ,"Twitter is so much more fun." To me, I think I like them both just about the same.  Twitter is made mostly for businesses or celebs.  Others would argue that it's made for personal use too.  And it is, but Facebook is even more for personal use.  Also, Facebook has a option to make a public page for a businesses.  To be honest, I don't like Facebook for a businesses.  I think Twitter is much better for that.  The good thing about twitter is that you can have fun with a personal account.  While you can also advertise even more with your businesses.  On Facebook, it's not made for businesses as well as twitter is.  So twitter you have more advantages with both personal and business.  On Facebook, it's better for personal.  But, others may argue.  What do you think? Do you like Facebook or twitter better? Why?  Let this be the Great Debate on Social Media.

The Story Behind Willa: A Skin Care Line

This story I read about was really inspiring...and sad.  An 11 year old girl named Willa, with the help of her mom created a Skin Care line named Willa named after the girl.  Willa and her mother created this to teach young girls to take care of their skin, to prevent skin cancer.  Willa's mother is a skin cancer patient and that is what inspired the Skin Care line.

The horrible part about this is that Proctor & Gamble, a company is now suing Willa for their Skin Care line name.  The reason is Proctor & Gamble have a hair care line called WELLA.  This is an example of bullying and this is just wrong! The names aren't even THAT similar and the two kind of care lines are totally different.  Willa is a line to help young girls prevent a dangerous cancer, and Proctor & Gamble are trying to ruin that.  That's horrible and evil.  Girls, What do you think about this event? C'mon, I wanna hear your voice, tell me what you think!

Makeup or No Makeup?

Hey Girls!
Soooooo.....
Lots of girls have opinions on Makeup.  I always wasn't a big fan of it and love the "Natural Beauty" but I am a hair perfectionist.  I only like a bit of eyeliner and that's it.  Some girls love all makeup from lipstick to concealer.  While other girls wear nothing.  I wear makeup very rarely and usually wear nothing? What do you think?  When I do try to wear makeup, I don't put it on right and it comes out wrong.  I just find it as a waste of time.  But other girls find makeup as a way to express themselves.  Some girls put wayyyyy to much makeup on and I don't wanna look like that.  I'm a fan of the saying "Less is More."  And I really think that's true.  What do you think? Do you wear makeup or not? Why or why not?

If you would like to try makeup...
1. Ask your mom or an older sister, someone that's experienced
2. Check out a youtube video

~Then.....
See which style you want to try, like dark to light and girly.  See which works best for you.  Also see what kind of makeup you want to try, like eye makeup or power or concealer.

~Then....
Make sure you know what you're doing.  For example: You don't wanna poke your eye holding the eyeliner pencil...:)
1 tip I do know...Don't apply liquid eyeliner to the waterline of your eye, it will sting.

Hope you enjoyed,
Arianna

Demi Lovato Unbroken New Album

I found this article on Allykatzz.com....

Have you heard? Demi Lovato’s new album UNBROKEN will be coming out! It was a Trending Topic on Twitter for all my Tweetie Birds J
As you know that one of the singles are “Skyscraper” but then she also put out anothersong from her Albumnamed “In Real Life”. Everything is on this album from soft and emotional like “Skyscraper” to fast, truthful, and Hip-Hop like “In Real Life”.
What Demi is trying to get across with this song is that in real life, whatever you really feel will happen, is most likely will not. I really do believe in the reason for this song. Everyone has that dream where a “Prince” will wisk them away in his arms and you will live happily ever after, but [please] don’t forget that it was a dream. You never know, that could happen one day but it is very unlikely.
What do you think of Demi’s new music? Do you like her better as a singer or an actress? Don’t forget to buy her Album “Unbroken” in Stores tomorrow and on ITunes.

I was a delegate at the International Year of Youth Culmination Celebration!

I had told you guys I was accepted to go to the United Nations in New York City. I attended as a delegate for the U.N. International Year Of Youth Culmination Celebration.  I was chosen based on the essay on gender equality, there were 192 delegates ranging from tween to teens ages 11 thru 24 years old.    It was a day of inspiring stories from amazing girls and young women from across the U.S. and around the world. The event was hosted by the beautiful Monique Coleman which many of you might remember her as Taylor McKessie in the movie High School Musical.
Monique was appointed the first ever United Nation Youth Champion at the UN headquarters in New York City last November.  She has raise awareness on youth issues, encourage young people to use their ability to foster progress in their communities and urge the international community to take responsibility on youth issues. She has visited 26 countries in the last six months.  Monique is also the founder & CEO of GimmeMo, a site she has dedicated to empowering youth and bringing awareness about real issues affecting tween and teens and to spotlight Hollywood’s commitment to giving back.Keynote speaker such as Farah Pandith, Begoña Lasagabaster Olazabal, Moira Forbes, Gina Otto, Ann Shoket, and more just to name a few were truly uplifting and many young girls share their amazing and inspiring stories on how they contributed to a positive world.
The most uplifting story came from a young women by the name of Vivian Thakhuli moved me literally in tears.   She lost her mom when she was 11 years old to aids, no father and the responsibility to raise her 13 siblings.   With difficult challenges that she had endured with the help of The Tomorrow Trust, Vivian an educated young woman and an advocate for empowerment of young girls.
Along with Monique Coleman, let’s not forget the founder and CEO of AllyKatzz, Denise Restuari who created a platform for tween and teens to speak out and together change the world for the better. Denise has created a safe online format where young girls can express and communicate their positive views.
Pictures.......

Meet young inspiring tween and teens who have made a difference and touched so many lives.  After the UN, the girls headed over in a chartered bus  to the French Institute Alliance Francaise where the celebration began.  The girls enjoyed a  fun lunch, fun games and activities.   Me and the girls helped filled backpacks for girls in need around the globe, filling them with items such as notebooks, sharpies, soaps, towels and much more that were generously donated by sponsors.

Being On Your Cell Phone Without Being On It To Much...

Hey girls!
I promise I will write about the summit soon! When I get the notification I'm a reporter, ok? :) For now I wanted to talk about cell phones.  Whether you range from "their no big deal" to when "their your life".  Comment what kind of phone you have if you have a phone.  Cell phones are great! They make great communication for people who travel you can do social networking on some phones and keep in touch with friends.  But, they could also be addicting and a waste of time.
Remember that saying, "Everything in Moderation." If you haven't heard it, it's a good thing to remember it now.
For example: I had the LG Xenon from At&t.  I couldn't go on the internet, I could only text, call, take pics, take videos, and hat was pretty much it.  My mom went to Target and got an iPhone 3 for $40 for me and my dad.  The first and second day I got it, I was on it all day and late at night.  I was fascinated and curious which is a good thing.  The third day I realized how much I was on it and thought I needed space.  I put it down and went outside to play frisbee with my dogs.  When I came inside I was happy I did that.  Now I only go on it when I'm bored or if I need to do something important. In so many words, I'm not on it too much or OBSESSED with it.
If you think your on a cellphone to much, it might be hard to put it down.  But follow these easy steps.
1. Take a deep breath and put it down :)
2. Go outside, play with pets, invite a friend over go to your friends house, watch tv, family time, etc.  Anything to get the phone off your mind.
Then you should know that you can be on your phone without being on it all the time.
REMEMBER: Everything in Moderation!!!!

Moving: Keeping In Touch With Friends

It can be VERY hard and sad when a friend moves or when you move! You go through all types of feelings, emotions, and stages. There is always going to be that hole in your heart when you move away or a friend moves away. Why couldn't they stay? Here's some advice on how to deal and keep in touch with your friends!
For girls who have moved:
So you just got the news that you're moving. MOVING?! We have to leave our house and my school and most of all.... my friends! What am I going to do? Well first off, you can spend your time being sad about it or you can think of it as a way to meet new people and get a fresh start in a new place! Before you move, make sure to spend A LOT of time with your friends so that when you do move you'll have lots of love to last for a long time!
Once you move, call your friends all the time. Write letters, text, email, skype, anything you can think of! So you're the new girl at school. First days are always hard but there are ways to get through them. Say hi to everyone and be super nice! If you're nice, they'll be nice back and you've just made a new friend!
For girls whose friends have moved:
Your friend just told you she's moving. :(. That's like the worst feeling ever! We do have to remember that it's going to be harder for them! Going to a whole new school and making new friends and basically starting your whole life over. We have to comfort our friends and be there for them when they need a shoulder to cry on. Keep in touch with her and text her, email, skype, and write letters! If she was the only one you ever hung out with then this is a new oppurtunity for you to make new friends.
So, have you ever had a friend thats moved? Have you moved before? How did you keep in touch with your friends? Hope you liked this blog!

I'm gonna be a delegate!

Hey girls,
I found out this month I will be attending the 2011 summit of Allykatzz.  I was picked based on an essay I had written about Gender Equality.  I was chosen with another 151 girls to fill the seats at the summit.  The  meeting will be held in NYC at the United Nations building.  The meeting is for young tweens and teens to stand up and change the world.  Being a delegate is an honor and I'm really proud of myself.  I get to stay at a hotel the night before and then go to the meeting.  I will meet important women and hear important women speak.  Remember Monique Coleman from High School Musical?  She will be hosting it so I will get to meet her!!  Maybe other celebrities too. The press will be there filming the whole summit and interviewing delegates.  It will be on comcast. We will get to bring home goodies bags filled with stuff.  I'm sooooo excited!

Allykatzz Post by saxgeek101

I found this article on allykatzz that I really like and maybe you guys would like to share your opinion on same-sex marriage in the comments.  Here it is...

Imagine this:
It's your wedding day, you have a beautiful dress on, all of your friends and family are very excited. Everyone is waiting for the ceremony to begin. Suddenly someone comes back to tell you that you can only get married if everyone votes on it. You think voting just means your family and friends, but no. The next county has to vote on it, the next state has to vote on it, the whole country has to vote on your marriage. Then they vote no.

How would you feel?
I know the first thought that would go through my mind is "Who gets to deciede who I get to marry?"
The people who voted against it, they know nothing about my parther and I, why should they get a say?
Well girls, that's what happens when people vote no on same sex marriage.
This is kind of reply to Kate's blog about how same-gender marriage is legal in New York now. Go them!<3
This is a very strong opinionated blog, so beware!
I am just another straight girl for LGBT rights. If you don't know, LGBT means, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transexual rights.
I am anxiously awaiting Arizona to become a rainbow state.
Why should same-gender marriage be legal?
My answer is because it's moraly right!

I know a lot of people disagree with me. You say that a girl kissing a girl is weird, same with boy and a boy. Well, a lot of things in life are weird. It's not all going to be like a story book.
We are all human. Love is love.
People argue that the Bible says that it is wrong. Well people do a lot of stuff that the Bible says is also wrong.
Leviticus 19:27 reads "You shall not round off the side-growth of your heads nor harm the edges of your beard." That would make getting a bowl cut wrong in the same way, same sex couples are, and you don't see people protesting at barber shops.

Leviticus 11:8, which is discussing pigs, reads "You shall not eat of their flesh nor touch their carcasses; they are unclean to you." Are you gals me you have never played football or watched a football game? Never eaten bacon or sausage? That's what a football is made of...pigskin...

Leviticus 19:19 reads, "You are to keep My statutes. You shall not breed together two kinds of your cattle; you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor wear a garment upon you of two kinds of material mixed together." Ever wear a polyester shirt? Or any fabric that wasn't 100% Cotton? The Bible says that's wrong too.

You think if the Bible says all of those things are wrong, more people would be protesting at JcPenny's for selling polyester shirts, or more people fighting the NFL for letting people touch pig carcasses...
People say that marriage should just be kept between a MAN and a WOMAN, Why?
50% of those are going to end in divorce. Oh! The Bible says that's wrong too.
Mark 10:11-12, "And He said to them, ‘Whoever divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her; and if she herself divorces her husband and marries another man, she is committing adultery.’"
And I just haven't seen that many people barging into court rooms to stop a divorce case..

Another arguement is that God would disapprove. Yet, a lot of people always preach that God loves everyone. When you love someone all you want is for them to be happy. And to a lot of same gender couples, marriage would make them happy.
So you say, I have no problem with gay people I just don't want them to get married. Why not? Is it really going to affect your day to day life that much? People get married every day, do you even take time to think about it? As you are driving down the road does a giant fish pop out and scream SOMEONE JUST GOT MARRIED?! No. That doesn't happen.
You aren't going to feel some current go through you each time a same gender couple gets married.
Don't like gay marriage? Well it's a good thing you don't have to get one.
Marriage makes a lot of people happy, why deprive them of that happiness

What do YOU think?
How much does a same-gender couple happiness effect you?
Did I change your opinion at all?
~JoLey
Your blogger who believes in HUMAN rights. Everyone deserves their shot at happiness.
PS Since LGBT is often considered a rainbow thing, I'm supporting a lot of my rainbow gear in the picture. (:
PSS If you are looking for an update on the Jill and Hank case, I don't know much. All I know is that Jill is pretty much grounded for life. Everyone is just so thankful they are home. I don't know why they ran away, or I would do a follow up blog.

What people do during the Summer....

Hey guys!! Sorry I haven't wrote a new post I have been extremely busy, but I'm back! :) I'm sure everybody is excited for Summer. Time off school, hang out with friends and family, take a dip in the pool, vacations, etc.  Though some people were telling me how they don't enjoy Summer as much as others do. They don't spend time at home because they go to Summer Camp for the whole Summer.  When school starts back up again they go back to school of course.  But people tell me they enjoy Summer Camp, how they make new friends, play games and it's a lot of fun!  I'm not sure if I would like it because I am very attached to my home, family, and my friends and the town I live in and everything around me! Sometimes I do wonder if I would enjoy camp to make new friends but I think I would be to homesick.  Getting back to the point, some people think that they don't get to spend any time at home because they get sent to camp for the summer. So as advise for these people, Talk to your Parents and say that you would like to spend time at home with the family and friends. Say that camp is good (or if you don't like it say you don't enjoy it) but you want your summer to be about you, your friends, your family.  See if they say yes to staying at home.  If you want ideas what to do here is a list...
1. Take a Dip in The Pool
2. Hang out with some Friends
3. Go play Outside (Some sports, with pets, watch the clouds, play in the rain)
4. Of course, all us tweens and teens cannot forget computer! (social networking)
5. Hang with the family
6. Go do some Arts and Crafts
7. Watch a Movie
8. Do some writing or reading (Write a story or read a good book on a gloomy day)
9. Eat a snack
10. Play a board game
There you go! Plenty of things to do during summer so you shouldn't get bored because I'm sure you have even more things to do for this Summer!
Enjoy

Demi's Decision?

Demi Lovato, 18 years old of the Sonny with a Chance television series on the Disney Channel is putting an end to Sonny with a Chance. Demi says that this is a great way to end the series so she can focus more on music. Demi said that she is ready to start a new chapter and move on from the show. Lovato said "It made sense for me to go ahead and leave the show to focus on my music, it's kind of sad for me that a chapter of my life has ended but there couldn't be a better time for me to move on, I don't think going back to Sonny would be healthy for my recovery, Being in front of a camera would make me nervous." Lovato said. The Disney Channel responded by saying "We respect Demi's decision to focus fulltime on her music and not immediately return to her acting career, She is a talented young woman and our hearts are with her as she continues to take action to improve her health and bounce back from adversity." Demi will continue working under Hollywood Records which is part of the Walt Disney Company. Right now Demi is working on a new album. Are you happy with Demi's decision?

Stress Less Tips!

Hey everyone! As you know, being a teen or tween is very tough, and very stressful. Stress is not a very fun feeling.  The definition of stress is physical, mental, or emotional strain or tension. Sounds familiar, right? Well, depending on the stronger emotions of stress, there are different ways to solve it.

     1) Anger. Rage. Fury. When someone makes you so mad, that you can't think or do anything else, then you have a problem. If you get to a state where you feel that violence is the only way to solve it then stop. Take a deep breath. Let it out slowly. That will only take you part of the way, though. Use a stress ball, like the one in this picture. Squeeze to your heart's content. Or take a pillow into a space where there are no breakables and throw it around. You can be as mean to that pillow as you want. Warning: While doing this, make sure there are NO breakable items in the room, and NO people in the room. It's ok the let everything out as long as it doesn't hurt anyone.
     2) Sad. Morose. Dejected. If something is making you depressed, and you can't do anything else, then something is wrong. If it gets to the point where you can't eat, your grades are plummeting, you can't sleep, or you feel like, in other words, you don't want to live your life anymore, get medical attention right away. This is very serious, and you MUST get help and tell your parents or legal guardians. If you are sad, but not that sad, then find ways to get your mind off of what makes you upset. Go do something fun with your friends or family. Read a book. Watch a movie. Anything that gets your mind off of it. If you can, talk to a trusted adult and see what they think you should do, and they could even help solve the problem at it's source.
There is good types of stress too. If you ever get butterflies in your stomach, or sweaty hands, or you get nervous right before you do something big, thats ok. It's actually healthy. It can help you get things done.
Thanks for reading, and good luck with stressing less!

Striped Cupcakes!

There have been a lot of birthday blogs recently and it's somebody's birthday everyday, so I thought I would tell you how to make one of my favorite striped cupcakes!

1. Buy your favorite cake mix and follow the mixing directions
2. Pick your favorite colors. It's easiest if you pick 2, but you can pick up to 6
3. Divide the batter into bowls for each color you want and mix in food coloring into each bowl until you get the color you want
4. Spoon in each of the colors into the paper cupcake cups. This can take a while so I would wait until you're about halfway done to start preheating the oven
5. When the oven is ready, bake the cupcakes according to the
directions on the box of the cake mix

When the cupcakes are almost done cooling, make the frosting by whisking together:
1 cup and 3 table spoons of confectioners' sugar (sift it into the bowl first)
3/4 cups of heavy cream
1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice

As soon as the frosting is done, immediately pour it onto the cupcakes.  The frosting is drippy, so I suggest putting the cupcakes on a cookie sheet before adding the frosting so make the clean up easier.

Then add some of your favorite sprinkles to the top and voila! Delicious AND beautiful cupcakes personalized with your favorite colors, enjoy!

Bowling?

Hey guys,  I just went bowling with my friends and let's just say I'm not that good at it....
I got like one strike and the rest like no pins or no very much pins knocked over.  I see little kids there that are like really, really good!  Does it take practice or it's just something that comes to you?  I really wanna be good at it.  I don't hate it just because I'm not good at it though.  I actually like to bowl!  I just wish I can have fun and be good at it at the same time.  How about you?  Are you good at bowling?  Are you good at another sport?

Valentines Day!!

For more cute crafts just like this visit: http://www.dltk-holidays.com/valentines/crafts-animals.htm
Tip 1:  Include the message "Have a purr-fect Valentine's Day!"
Tip 2:  Glue the heart animal to the front of a folded over piece of construction paper or scrapbook paper to make a cute Valentine's Day card.
Tip 3:  Purchase fancy paper from the scrapbooking store and print the B&W version onto this for an extra fancy Heart Animal.
Tip 4:  Scotch tape a straw or popsicle stick to the bottom to make a puppet
Tip 5:  Glue a small piece of sandpaper on the back to make a felt board character
Tip 6:  Cut construction paper into 4 inch wide strips as long as you can make them.  Tape two together to make even longer.  Measure around child's head to make a construction paper 'crown'.  Glue Heart Animal to front of the crown to make a Valentine's Day hat.

Materials:

  • paper
  • glue
  • scissors

Directions:

  • Print out the template of choice.  I like printing the B&W version on colored paper.

  • Color (where appropriate).

  • Cut out the template pieces.  (the pieces on the template are at about the angle they will be on the finished craft.  That should help you sort out which pieces belong where)

  • Glue pieces together:

Glue large upside down heart so it overlaps medium upside down heart to form the body
Glue wiggly piece onto the medium upside down heart to form the tail.
Add the second large upside down heart (the one with the eyes on it) so it overlaps the body to form the head.
Add the smallest pink heart to form the nose.
Glue the small pink hearts into the center of the hearts that are just slightly larger to form the ears..
Glue the ears onto the head so the points are sticking up.

Tired of the snow?

I'm starting to really miss Spring and Summer.  I mean I like the snow but the gloomy days get me down after a while.  I am enjoying no school, but I miss the sun and going outside barefoot, in a tank top, and in the pool or the sprinkler.  Now if you try to jump in a pool, you jump on to a hark, thick sheet of ice.  If you try to go under the sprinkler, you will have lots of ice pieces falling on you.  In a way I don't want the snow to go away because I like being home a lot and not having to go to school and wake up early in the morning.  I just miss no school, the warm weather, and hanging out with friends at get-togethers.  I hope Spring and Summer comes soon. :(

Too much homework?

There has been sooooo much homework for me lately!  I was sick for one day this week and already get lots of extra homework.  Then the next day I got a snow-day!  I don't have work to make up for the snow-day but then I have 2 quizzes, 1 test, 2 reports, 1 paragraph, and lots of homework!  Especially one of my teacher's that's giving out tons of homework doesn't usually give it out.  All this work is starting to overwhelm me!  I'm in 5th grade and with the amount of work all get I feel like I'm in college. Do you get this much school work?  Do you think this amount of homework kids get should become a concern for parents?

Hair Scare!

Hair-raising horrors happen to everyone, here's how to stop them...

Greasy Hair
As you get older, your oil glands get more active.  For most girls this means their hair is very greasy.  If the roots of your hair look oily almost everyday, you may have to shampoo your hair often.  Stay away from heavy, greasy products such as gels that can also lead to greasy hair.  If you must use them, use a nickel sized amount.

Dandruff!
Does your scalp feel itchy and dry?  Are your clothes covered with flakes of skin?  You may have a case of dandruff, a very common condition that usually easy to treat.  Try a specialized dandruff shampoo from the drugstore.  If drugstore shampoos do not work, ask your doctor for something stronger. Hair products such as mousse, sprays, and gels can cause buildup.  Shampoo regularly to remove the buildup.

Getting Gum Out
Yikes!  Somehow you've managed to get a big wad of gum in your hair.  Before you reach for the scissors, try this old trick.  Spread a glob of peanut butter on the gum.  Work the peanut butter through your hair until the gum comes out.  The peanut butter will wash out with regular shampoo.

EEK- A Louse!
Head lice are a common problem among school kids everywhere.  These tiny wingless parasites thrive in  thickets of human hair.  They bite the scalp, leaving tiny sores that can itch really bad.  Worst of all, a single louse can lay hundreds of eggs, called nits, right on your head! Nits glue themselves to hair and can be hard to get out.  A special fine-tooth "nit comb" can help pick out the nits.   If lice are on the loose at your school, take action to protect yourself.  Don't share combs and brushes with friends.  Don't swap hats, hair bands, or headphones, and don't trade pillows at sleepovers.  If you suspect unwelcome guests on your head be sure to check with your doctor or a school nurse.  Live lice are small and gray, and move around.  Nits look like white grains of sand, found along the hairline above the neck and below the ears. If it turns out you have lice, you can buy delousing products at the drugstore.  Follow the instructions carefully to get rid of lice completely and to keep them from coming back.

SillyBandz?

Recently, at my small school, people got obsessed with this year's biggest fad: yes, you know what I'm talking about. SillyBandz. How did these colorful little rubber bands suddenly create an obsession that has completely blown out of control. Teachers hate them, kids adore them, who's right and who's wrong? I, myself own only SillyBandz, but stop wearing them cause they cut my circulation. The price of these little bracelets are about $5.99 for 24 bands. Does that seem expensive to you? But these little celebrities can be dangerous, too. Like I said before, they cut your circulation.  If you have so many bands they crawl up your arm, they could cut of your circulation. Also, they could be a disruption and a distraction in class. For instance, say you're sitting in Math, taking the hardest test OF YOUR LIFE and suddenly, you feel the urge to snap your SillyBandz on your wrist. That would not only distract you, it would distract your class. And also, SillyBandz can make fights break out faster than you can say, "I'll trade you my money sign for your unicorn!" So, what's your opinion of SillyBandz? How long do you think this trend will last? Respond with your comments!

Above The Influence!

I am a big fan of Above the influence.  I love it because they have such creative commercials, and they are all telling tween, pre-teens, and especially teenagers a great thing.  The message they are trying to send is you shouldn't get all caught up in peer-pressure, drugs, teen pregnancy, getting drunk and lots more.  People do make mistakes, but if you do it once don't do it again!  Don't get caught up in these things because you thinks it's cool.  In the end you'll regret it.
Why not to get caught up in it...

Peer-Pressure- It's not worth feeling bad about yourself, just to fit in and be popular.  It's been said by actual "popular" girls that it's not all polished and great.  One girl said,"I'm actually a nice girl.  I never bully or anything cause I think that is just plain wrong.  But since people see your popular, they automatically think your mean and full of yourself.  So it's not all that great." Full proof right here! Peer pressure, not worth it.

Drugs- Make you look awful and #1 reason not to use them: THEY'RE UNHEALTHY.  People think drugs help them get better but they don't.  They are really, really bad for you, and that's why they're illegal.

Teen pregnancy:  What a big responsibility!  Why ruin your life when your going through big changes and having fun, enjoying your teen life.  If you love your life don't ruin it by a teen pregnancy.

Getting drunk:  Getting into a car accident is one of the known mistakes of getting drunk.  There are so many others.  Getting wasted is dangerous, stupid, and can cause heath problems.  Alcohol isn't good for your body.  It makes you tired, throw up, and just makes you feel awful. Above the Influence has a saying, "Getting messed up is just another way, of leaving yourself behind."

Smoking: Everyone knows smoking makes your lungs black and wears them down.  It makes your teeth yellow and makes you have bad breath.  Smoking causes health problems like cancer, asthma, and more. Don't even think about trying it, because once you start it's hard to stop.

Together Above the Influence, you and all other agencies can come together and rise above the bad stuff and be above the influence!
